Houston Highways is one of many web sites
owned by Impact Solutions of Texas. Back in 1994 before the average
person was using the Internet and before the search engines were working
like they are today, the need arose to produce a directory for a large
Texas corporation to provide useful links to companies they did business
with. Since this Dallas based corporation had offices in Dallas,
Houston, and the Austin area, our index of businesses centered around
these metropolitan areas. In 1996, the web site was placed on an
external web site and made public for everyone to use. In 1998 the
web site was moved to Town-Mall and a sub-directory was made for Houston
businesses. Over the past several years, our Houston information
has out grown our server space and hence, Houston Highways was born.
Today, Houston Highways has grown to over 600 actual pages with more
than 10,000 links to Greater Houston businesses.
Our focus is on providing an index for
Houstonites to quickly and easily locate a business or service in the
Greater Houston area. Each company and their web site is listed free in a category
pertaining to their business making it one of the largest area directories
of it's kind. Our web site is 99.9 percent brick and mortar listings
most of which are located in or within 50 miles of Houston itself.
