AirCare (Harlingen, TX) is available for
emergency and non-emergency medical transports 24 hours a day. From the
initial telephone contact, our Valley AirCare staff will provide
all arrangements. Upon receiving an air-ambulance request, our medical
coordinator will contact the physician or health care facility
and access the current condition of the patient. The
pilot will simultaneously proceed to prepare the aircraft, file flight
plan, and assess weather conditions. Ground arrangements will also be
made and the estimated time of arrival will be provided to the
referring hospital. During the transport, our flight team will
evaluate and continually monitor the condition of the patient.

| Angel
Flight (Addison, TX) established in 1991 as Angel Flight of
Texas, Inc, is a 501(c)(3) non-profit Texas corporation dedicated to the
free non-emergency air transportation of medical patients, family members,
blood and organs for those who cannot access conventional
transportation. Conventional transportation may be unavailable,
impractical, or simply not affordable. Angel Flight private pilots use
their flying skills to provide transportation to medical treatment for
people who are geographically isolated or financially depleted by a
serious illness. Our sole purpose is to serve the community by sharing a
unique service for which there is often no substitute. Angel Flight
South Central is composed of volunteer pilots and non-pilots who provide
their time, aircraft, skills, and expenses at no cost to either the
requesting organization or Angel Flight. Patients and traveling companions
are referred and qualified by social workers, case workers, physicians,
and ministers. There is never a charge for the services of Angel Flight
South Central. |
