Land Regional Airport is the fourth largest airport in the greater Houston
area, and the only general reliever airport in the southwest sector.
An ambitious capital improvements program emphasizing safety is currently
in progress. Amenities at the airport include: a state-of-the-art
air traffic control tower and radar system; a reinforced, concrete runway
measuring 100 feet wide by 8,000 feet in length, accommodating the largest
of the corporate-type business jets; and an instrument landing system and
high-intensity lighting. A new 20,000 SF Terminal, slated for a 2005
completion and a 60-acre GA Complex currently in the bidding phase are
among the projects currently on the horizon. |
